Travelling with toddlers | Vancouver Photographer
In 1o years it feels like Costa Rica has barely changed, and this time around I was fortunate to appreciate it from a different perspective. We ventured to the west coast with 2 other families and an old travel pal for a well-deserved 2 week long playdate. Seven adults and 5 kids under 5 made for a busy but rewarding vacation. We have taken our twin boys on tropical vacations before; Hawaii was a fantastic destination for first time travel with wee ones. My boys are now at a perfect age to introduce them to so many more activities, making a trip to Costa Rica a logical next step.
We all fell in love with the people of Costa Rica. Our family was greeted with smiles from ear to ear as we trekked around with our “gemelos” (pronounced heh-melos; it’s Spanish for twin boys). Costa Rican’s really value family and they took such an interest in our gigantic pseudo-kin, amusing us with their wonderings about who belonged to who.
As a portrait photographer, it was tough for me to leave my professional gear at home, so for this family trip I invested in a high quality compact. The Fuji x20 camera helped to keep my baggage light and my trip stress free. I love photographing love in tropical locales. Here are a few of my faves, enjoy!
