Ronald McDonald House BC/Yukon Families
I absolutely love working with Ronald McDonald House BC/Yukon. Photographing these families brings me great joy and it’s very rewarding to have clients who are helping others and making a difference in the world.
The idea behind these shoots is coming out for an afternoon and spending a little time with a few of the families who are currently staying at the house. These families are benefiting from this amazing resource and are eager to volunteer to have their photo taken. It’s their way of giving back too.
The images we capture are used in various marketing campaigns, both online and in print. Specifically to thank some the the awesome donors who make this amazing place possible and accessible to as many families who need it.
Ronald McDonald House has been providing accommodation for seriously ill children and their families when they must travel to Vancouver for their child’s major treatment since 1983. Currently they provide this temporary housing for about 2,000 families per year.
Ronald McDonald House BC and Yukon is owned and operated by the Children’s Family House Society of BC. It is an independent, Board-directed, non-profit organization. The House is managed with a small staff and dedicated volunteers.
Ronald McDonald House is a very special place. If you live out of town and your child needs to go to Children’s hospital, accommodations can be very expensive. Not to mention the stress of having a sick kid. This place offers parents and caregivers a place to stay that is clean, comfortable and set-up in a way that encourages play and brings families together.
