I love love – it’s my favourite thing to photograph. I grew up outdoors, surrounded by kids and these passions have shaped my work. Honesty, clarity and simplicity are values that shine through in my images and my calm energy helps me really connect with my clients.
I have been taking photographs since 1988. In 2003, I decided to round out my experience with a 2-year diploma in professional photo imaging at Langara College, and worked in commercial and advertising photography as a photographer’s assistant and an image retoucher. I now teach image retouching and post-production in the digital photography program at the Vancouver Institute of Media Arts.
I have worked as a professional photographer in outdoor tourism, winter sports, and family lifestyle. My images have been published in Snowboard Canada Magazine and some of my commercial clients include Westcoast Resorts, Body Exchange Life and Fitness, Go Go Bags, and Maxwell Designs. I am also the volunteer photographer for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, shooting several events throughout the year including their Walk For The Cure and Rockin’ for Research.
My proudest professional moment is when one of my images was chosen out of thousands of entries to win 2nd place in the Babies category of the 2011 National Association of Professional Child Photography contest.
